Tosba amcanın dedikleri
Bir zamanlar yorgunluk neymiş nedir bilmezdim
Gideceğim yer ve adresi tahmin ederdim
Var mı bu yolun son durağı? Hiç düşünmezdim
Şimdi iş başka. Bazen içten söyleniyorum
İşte bu yolun uzunluğu buymuş diyorum
Başı, ortası, sonu, hepsini biliyorum
Al işte, canımla aramızdaki mesafe!
Beden dediğimiz kafes benzermiş eşşeğe!
Nasrettin gibi ters oturuyoruz semere
Arada benimki bakıyorum anırıyor
Sanki benim derdime bir şeyler yakınıyor
Ama, hala durmadan yola devam ediyor
Ağırlık neymiş ki? Bu onun günlük çilesi
Tahammül çizmiş ona zor bir ömür çizgisi
Mukaddes hayvan bize aşık olmuş nihai
Onla nereye gideceğimizi biliyor
Tekme, tokat ve sopayla artık koşturmuyor
Sakın ha! O zaman daha da çok anırıyor
Gürültü adamın içini bulandırıyor
Bu tarzı yediği tekmelerden daha fena
Neyse, demek ki hayatta dert varmış yarında
Ama mutluluk arkadaymış, yani kuyrukta!

What uncle 'TURTLE' said
Once upon a time, I didn't know what tiredness was.
I would guess the place and the address I would go to
Is there a last stop on this road? I never gave it a thought
Now it's different. Sometimes I say it sincerely
I say this is the length of this road.
Beginning, middle, end, I know it all
Here you go, the distance between me and my life!
The cage we call body is like a donkey!
We mount the saddle facing backwards, like Nasreddin
Sometimes I look at mine and he is braying.
It's like he is complaining about something about my troubles.
But he still keeps on going
What's a baggage anyway? This is his daily ordeal
Endurance has drawn a difficult life-line for him.
The sacred animal has ultimately
fallen in love with the likes of us
He knows where we're going with him
He no longer runs on kicks, slaps and sticks
Do not even think about it! Then he brays even louder
The noise makes a man feel nauseous
This is worse than the kicks he gets
Anyway, it means there may be trouble in our life tomorrow
But happiness was always in the back, in the tail behind!
Not:
Note:
Uncle "Turtle" ("Tosba" in Turkish slang) was the only filmmaker in our village in the 60s. I don't remember his name anymore, but I can't forget what he said. He was just the most unknown and most mysterious person in the neighborhood. May God have mercy on him and may his soul rest in peace.
