WEDDING PARTY

We decorated a saddle on a colt best
Well done to the groom!
We got a bride in full bloom
with silver and gold ribbons, that spume
spread over and sprinkled in splendour
seat her sideways,
when she is outside the door -
on a fancy, but an ornate donkey:
Mounted, let me bride come home
majestic like a Sycamore tree!
Let her weep at the laybys and doorways
Let her father's house be sore at the loss
No food or drink for me bride!
She must suppress her appetite for the day
Got her diamond rings and bracelets
plus a dainty lace handkerchief -
tailored with golden threads, petite
Let's beautify her with a pearl necklace and wreathe
Brought me a bride who feigns reluctance,
I will welcome her with much exultance!
She demands a lot of care;
for she is a delicate flower so rare!
We have a wedding and a feast
Those who love to party, come and dance
kneel up and kneel down!
This poet will take himself a bride
There are round tiny tasty meatloafs for all of you
Let the drums beat and boom
Let the bagpipes blow and scream
With the bride and groom
let's all hold hands, form a circle
and start a dance!
Let the strings of saz, jazz it up!
Mercy friends, mercy
Here is the groom of such rare nobility!
Without the wedding pleasures yet complete
Let's spare him the back punch,
its a rite he doesn't deserve to meet with!
