Beşerin taptığı bir kendisinin heykelidir;
Dinlemem, etse de Allah´ı bütün gün takdîs.
Ben bu mel´un putun uğrunda geberdim, hâlâ,
Kabaran kokmuş içimden: "Yaşasın nefs-i nefis!"

Beautiful Being
What humankind worships is its own self on a statue;
I won’t hear of it, were it all day sung to God’s glory.
Gave up the ghost on behalf of such a cursed sign, but still -
Cry, my swollen stale depths: "Live, breath of Being most Beautiful!"
