Tavaf eder odamızda evimde
Dokuz çocuk sallamıştır beşiği
Pazar günü yirmibeşi Nisanın
Nazlı gelin ilkbaharın gelini
Geçmiş gitmiş düşmanlığı Kışımın
Kayıp artık cenazesi mezarı
Sensin melhem tekrarlanmaz derdime
Sensin ilham muhtevası dermanı
Sevgin sedan busesidir alnımın
Derin derin kazılmıştır yazısı
Artık bitmez tomurcuklar ağaçta
Yeni yılda pişecektir kayısı
Zarif nağme riyakardır dilime
Bülbül küssün şakımasın şarkısı
Sensin artık ocakları aşkımın

CARNATION
At dawn,
she would fill her flask
Life today was just like yesterday for my Carnation
As soon as she woke up,
she readied her daily bundle of chores
My night eyed beauty
she would ease my anguish
Slowly she lifted up her spirit
and faced a new day everyday
She was a gentle twinkling light
She circumambulated
in our room and everywhere in our house
Nine children she rocked in the cradle
Sunday is the twenty-fifth of April
The day my delicate and coy bride
became my Lady of the Spring
The hostility of my wintery moods is done
Her body and her grave are gone
and its been so long
She was the balm of my life
The healer of my dread and anxiety
She was my daily cure and inspiration
Her love was sealed with a kiss right into my soul
Its inscription is deep inside me
Her tree down there buds no more
But the apricots,
they will be ready again for the new year
Her elegant melody
said one thing but did something else for me
So let the nightingale be angry
and never sing her song
My Carnation!
She was the hearth of my love
Her verve, like the sound of violins
still replays her symphony, but just for me!
